heart of a sutta

like a gentle discourse in knowing
now, delicate wings found
and beauty of pebbles most ordinary,
she; dear child of four,
has a heart of a sutta, ancient adage
of things good and moments true.

I took this photo outside, under our big tree, one day after we came home from school. It is a crappy scan from a lovely print. It was one of those photos.. you know the kind... the kind that when you see it for the first time, makes you stop, and you wonder -- who is that beautiful and wise little thing? And you aren't sure how that photo got in with the photos you took, but you are thankful that it is there because there's just so much truth, it would be heartbreaking if it wasn't so hopeful and beautiful.)
