The pieces of orchard ladder I rescued from the garbage a couple of years ago and we have 4 or 5 pieces spread throughout the garden, most have clematis climbing up but the one piece against the fence has a beautiful little rose that I transplanted from my parents' house. The white ladder was another curb-side shopping find and Paul restored it for a project in school.

The big birdhouse with the banged up metal roof was something my mom found out to the curb... she had it at her store for a few years but when it closed and she didn't have room for it at home, I was happy to put it in my garden. It is very prim, one of my favourite garden *things*.

This is the first year our tree peony is going to bloom.. can't wait to see what it looks like! :)

Again, the first year all five of our peonies are going to bloom. We had a single white bloom last year, but none others had buds. Each plant is covered with buds, and if you look closely you can see the ants hard at work! All of these peonies came from my grandmother's house and I can't wait to see what they look like when they open.. many of them she has had since I was a little girl and I remember being so fascinated by the ants and then the huge, fluffy blooms...

:) Ashley.

Wow Ashley............every photo is just beautifu! I wanna come over!
Love the story about your Grandma's peonies and the ants you remember as a little girl. So nice you were able to transplant them into your yard, and they survived!
TFS!
is there room for a tent back there?? what a dream yard.
I'm anxiously waiting on my peonies also!!!
Oh wow Ashley! What an absolutely gorgeous garden you have! Divine!
Oh yum, I'm in love! So many wonderful things in your garden. Love the ladders and the birdhouse. But the flowers! Makes me want to dig up my suburban postage stamp-sized yard and plant everywhere! Not sure what the dog would think of that. Your irises are stunning. My peonies just opened yesterday. One that I planted last year is AWOL though.
Can't wait to see what blooms in your garden next. Thanks for sharing.
