a Scraptastic! day today

Today was the day....
grey,
rainy,
as autumn so often is,
sleeping on the couch,
with sick Addie Blue sleeping,
stacked on top of me.
Then.
The dull thud of something heavy
hitting the floor
between the two front doors,
screen door not catching again,
as heavy footsteps walked away.
Drifted back to sleep,
my sick baby snuffling and warm
on my chest,
then woke,
suddenly remembering the
dull thud of mail arriving earlier.

And there it was.
In white envelop,
exactly the size,
shape,
and weight
of a book.
My book!

So.
Totally.
Scraptastic!

I think I'm in love, and I'd say that even if it wasn't my layouts in that book.


They did such an amazing job, those lovely book-makin' folk at F+W, Christine and Kristen, Christine P, Marissa, Aileen, and all of the other people who I didn't meet but had a hand in this project along the way. They all shaped it and moulded it and made it something very beautiful that I could not, would not have achieved on my own.

I loved the little details that are spread throughout the book, the lovely backgrounds and details around the titles that Marissa created, and these wonderful little details on the back cover, which I had not seen until this afternoon, so it was a delightful little surprise and discovery.


And inside... each layout has almost a full page, and then there are full colour step-by-step photos with captions to explain each technique, featuring me creating the projects in the book (so I promise you, they all work!) :)


It is so nice to have a copy here at home.
I hope everyone out there who picks it up will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. And, I hope you'll have fun falling in love with some of the techniques I've showed you, the same way I love them. :)

I'll be doing a pre-order here on my blog, but need a day or two to gather the details before I'm ready.
