my girls love rocks.
they find them wherever we go,
(a reverent event).
they pick them up
and fill pockets,
or held firmly in little fists,
bring them home
like treasures
to place on windowsills,
offered like gifts.
how they love them.
these little
pebbles, stones,
rocks.
each one a favourite.

children are so great at finding happiness everywhere!
We have a seasonal campsite in Maine and the people in the site next to ours covered their whole area with stones. When my niece and our friend's daughter saw them, they searched for the prettiest then set up a "Rock Stand" and sold them to passersby. Even the owners of the rocks bought some! They made $21! ~Linda
