hello happiness

Ruby Sky is such a joy. She is full of happiness and everyone around her can't help but smile. Even when she wakes up in the middle of the night, her huge smile when I pick her up is so contagious, and I can't help but not mind being woken up by such a happy baby. It's easy to pick her up and say, "hello, happiness" because everything about her is just happy and makes us all happy.

I used the back side of K&Co flags to back the hand cut title. The Pink Paisley wee letters are backed on chipboard to give a bit of dimension.

I handwrote and then cut out the word "hello" and then added yarn over top. I freehand cut scalloped clouds from white cardstock and backed the yarn hello with layers of ruffled white crepe paper and vellum.
I cut out on of the clouds of the Jillybean Soup patterned paper and backed the remaining hole with vellum layered over aqua cardstock. I tucked a small tag with the date into the hole.

Here you can see a close up of the light and airy textures of the white yarn hello, the white ruffled crepe paper, and the white pinked vellum. I wanted the layout to feel light and airy.

I created this little cloud emblem by layering a K&Co die cut banner, a 3D Making Memories silver star, and the cloud I cut out of the patterned paper for the background. I glittered the edges of the cut out cloud.

This cute little bird on the cloud was the only one like it on the sheet of paper -- and of course was covered up by the clouds at the bottom of the page. It was so cute and I didn't want to have it lost behind the clouds, so I cut it out and popped it out over another cloud at the top of the page. I glittered up a tiny jewellery tag with aqua glitter and tied it with silver string to add a little sparkle to the top corner.

Supplies: pattern paper (Jillybean, Prima); die cuts (K&Co, Pink Paisley, Making Memories); letter stickers (My Little Shoebox); chipboard frame (Maya Road); photo corners (Heidi Swapp); stick pins (Maya Road); font (Arial Narrow); glitter (Recollections)
