My new nephew, Andy has arrived! He is cute, and seems tiny. He is also one of the most serious babies I've ever met. He is quite wonderful and already a much-loved addition to the family.
I couldn't wait to start scrapping this cute little guy, so made a layout with the photo my sister sent out in the birth announcements. His room and the baby shower for my sister are both air plane themed so I tried to incorporate a bit of that theme into the page. The little flag banners and the tiny paper air plane were all left overs from the cupcake toppers I made for the shower.
Here is the whole page. I stood it up on a fluted metal basket to photograph it, and you can see the edge looking wonky at the bottom of the photo.
I covered a chipboard airplane with patterned paper and floated a tag with the title, as if the plane were pulling the announcement.
I love saving scraps from other layouts -- especially the leftovers after I have handcut out a detail for another page -- to use again.
Here are the cupcake topper pieces (flag banners and paper air plane) that I made for the baby shower. I made so many of these, I was happy to have a few left over to use on a page!
