My girls both took ballet for four years at the same dance studio in our old hometown. This after recital photo was the only good photo I had from the recital, our seats were too far back to get any good shots during the show. So instead of focusing on the stage performance, I made a page commemorating that this was their last recital with that dance studio, since we moved to a new city after that dance year was over.
I made a banner for the title and popped it off the page. For the title lettering, I used American Crafts foam glitter stickers and stuck them to white cardstock, then cut out around each individual letter, leaving a small white border. I like the bit of definition this added, and left the centres of the round letters white, for additional contrast from the backing banner.
I used Tim Holz Distress Stickles in Rock Candy over the die cut heart, and then stapled it to the white tag. The white tag is also popped off the page for extra interest and dimension. The tag string sort of got tangled up behind the ColorBok hot air balloon die cut, and I liked the way it looked so I left it and adhered it the way it happened to fall.
I tucked some white threads, a stick pin, and a small white jewellery tag under the folded crepe paper and vellum curtain at the top of the page.
I also added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the cute little shoes on this Dear Lizzy tag. I think you can see the lovely subtle shimmer this adds, if you click on the photo to enlarge it.
The green splats at the bottom of the page are Peeled Paint Distress Stain and the blue shimmer is from Turquoise Perfect Pears Mists. The bottom of the page show above is actually what was the top of the page, shown here.
