I had a sort of vision in my head of how I wanted this to look. White dimensional hearts with glitter "falling" off of them. So I sketched out the hearts, painted on some adhesive, and sprinkled the glitter around, and added some painty watercolour.
The product did not match my vision.
As I was working on the rest of the page I kept thinking the hearts looked like they were BLEEDING, not raining glitter down the page. And the better I tried to make it look, the worse it ended up. So I kept telling myself I was the only person who would think they were bleeding hearts, bleeding out glitter.
Well, that cute little Addie Blue walked up to my layout when it was done, took one (brief) look at it, and said to me, "So mama, did you WANT the hearts to look like they're BLEEDING". Ha.
So much for no one else thinking they were bleeding!
At least they're bleeding glitter.
