she dreamed of ballet slippers
and of the stage under lights,
visions of tutus
danced through her nights.
she woke in the morning and lifted her head,
today, I just want to dance real graceful,
she said.
she planned to twirl
like a leaf on the breeze
delicate and precise,
performing with ease.
with pointed toes
posed with care
she would step
and turn
and hop
through the air
rehearsed concentration on her face
she took her place
she wanted to dance with grace,
and she did.
