I finally scrapped this photo of Paul and the girls on Father's Day, from two years ago now. All of the pictures from this day turned out so blown out, even though I thought they looked fine when I was shooting. But, they are the photos I have, so they will have to do!
Paul wanted to go look at some underground caves nearby where we were living at the time, so we went on a hike. It was a hot, bright, clear day. The girls love going on adventures like this with dad!
I used some rub-ons by Heidi Grace Kress of Clever Handmade for this layout. They are those wonderful, buttery smooth, thick kind, that just glide onto the paper with ease. So nice to use.
They are listed on the packaging as embroidery patterns, but I decided to use them as painting templates. I transferred the entire sheet of cloud rub-ons to plain white cardstock, and then painted in the shapes with little dots and dashes of water colour in shades of blue. I used silver ink for the cloud on the very top.
I cut out the painted clouds, adhered them and layered them using pop dots. So cute, and so easy! Love finding great products like these rub-ons that make creating your own embellishments so fast and easy.
Punched hearts are sprinkled around the page, and a few have a touch of watercolour on them, too. I folded some banners and handwrote the title on one.
I adhered a white glittery cloud to the banner at the top of the page, and behind it is a tag, a glittery sun, and a small Clever Handmade cloud rub-on filled with silver ink dots. The large cloud on the bottom right in the photo above included that cute little heart in the rub-on... love! I filled it in with glittery silver-blue watercolour.
Another cute heart detail in this cloud rub-on, too. This one is painted pink and filled in with Glossy Accents to add dimension and shine.
You can see the glossy accents on the heart better here... there are also dots of Glossy Accents over random watercolour dots in the clouds. If you look closely a the small cloud on the right, you can see the shiny dimension on some of the dots.
Love the way these cute clouds are popping off the page and hiding the tag with the date written on it.
I layered some scraps from another project to make a photo corner on the top of the layout. The white confetti on the page is collected from heart punchies and the rubbish bits from the edging punch I used at the bottom of the layout.
I love using little index prints on pages. They are like personalized embellishments. I framed these tiny ones with photo corners so they wouldn't get too lost on the page.
More cute Clever Handmade rub-on clouds! I tucked a glittered sun behind them and layered a tiny tag on top. There is a bit of white confetti sprinkled in there, too.
This little clod is wrapped up with a banner and tied up in a cotton thread bow. You can see a little bit of tiny watercolour detail on some of the heart punchies here, too.
Loved these rub-ons! When I saw these clouds I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them... fill them in with sketchy little watercolour drips and droplets, and the fill the pages with these cute little cheery clouds. So happy with the way this page turned out.
I have a few more packages of these great Clever Handmade rub-ons to use, so hopefully will get a chance to use them, soon.
