Cocoa Daisy 80 Days Reveal!

Hi everyone!
It's that time again... new kit time! This month at Cocoa Daisy the main kit is called 80 days and has a travel theme to it, but is, as always, versatile enough to use for daily moment type scrapping, too.

For a full kit tour of ALL of the kits, here is the video I made this month:

And to get started, here at the layouts I've made so far. I decided to go ahead with my Paris album, and so far have made 5 pages for it! This is crazy big time progress for me. :)

I also decided to go ahead and hole-punch the pages themselves, and insert directly into a binder, rather than using page protectors. I just love the tactile nature of layouts and didn't want to hide any of the good stuff behind a layer of plastic in this album. I feel pretty confident going forward with this method for this album, because I am scrapping the entire trip in chronological order and putting it together as one big project, so I am not worried about wanting to move pages around in the future, like I do with our regular/everyday albums.

Page 1: Off We Go.
I made a mixed media background paper on white cardstock. The globes were cut from a piece of Basic Grey paper in the kit, and I layered two pieces together and stitched them into a garland. I coloured the wood veneer airplane with some aqua mist.

First double-page spread:

Page 2: To France
For this page, I used the paper I made for my DIY paint and stamped patterned paper tutorial on the Cocoa Daisy blog. I used label stickers, letter stickers, and a journalling card from the CD Day In The Life kit.

Page 3: We Flew
I made a "peek-a-boo" page by using a sheet of Studio Calico constellation patterned vellum as a top sheet, and creating a simple layout on that page. The layout visible beneath this vellum page was design to be continuous and work with the top page design.

I used lots more Day In the Life kit items here.. more exclusive journalling cards... label stickers... letter stickers... wood veneer.

I also used one of my all-time favourite Cocoa Daisy stamps, the cloud stamp, to make some paper embellishments for this page.

Two page spread:

Page 4: Go See Do
I made an envelope out of white cardstock to hold our airplane tickets. I sized and placed it so it was directly behind the journalling cards on the front side of the vellum page.

I cut out some of the faux postage stamps from a sheet of Basic Grey paper, and used two exclusive Cocoa Daisy stamps to create an envelope that sort of looks like it was sent through the mail.

The Go See Do stamp is included in the August Cocoa Daisy Day In The Life kit, and the dotted airplane stamp is available as a separate purchase.

Page 5:  And Into The Day
This is the layout that sits under the previous vellum page. Again, I used mostly Day In the Life kit items on this page... more journalling cards, twine, and wood veneers. The photos were taken as the sun was coming up and a new day started.
