Well, it's December, and it's time to come Home Again with Cocoa Daisy!m See the kit reveal plus a kit tour video right here.
This month I decided to try my old scrapbooking size on again... 8.5x11. I printed all of our November photos (mostly Instagram and iPhone shots, I saved the "photo shoot" photos to print for another day), and started out with thinking I'd try to scrap the month of November. So far I've only managed to make 3 pages -- having a newborn in the house is way more work than I remember it being!!
First up: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Because we have 6 people in our family, now! I turned the Cocoa Daisy numbers stamp into a Silhouette cut file and cuti it out of polka dot embossed Bazzill cardstock. I backed the cut-out numbers with papers from the December main kit and the patterned paper add-on.
The navy paper backing the layout and the pink tonal diagonal stripe are both Cocoa Daisy exclusive papers... and I heart them. :)
Next, night watch. This photo is of Paul, and our night nurse at the hospital the night Evening Grey was born. Because I had gestational diabetes they had to check her blood sugars every two hours after she was born, in addition to all of the other things they check on regularly.... it felt like we were keeping watch over her that first night. And she did perfectly well. :)
Here I used the patterned paper add-on to punch out hearts and then I sewed them to a plain cardstock background. I added German glass glitter to the main kit chipboard letters -- and I posted a tutorial on the Cocoa Daisy blog on how to do this.
And third, they play. Addie Blue and Ruby Sky spend hours almost every day playing with Addie Blue's cute little Calico Critters. I love photos like these, because even though they aren't the best photographs, they are perfect snapshots of our life today.
