Cocoa Daisy Designer's Challenge: strip!

Nicole gave us a challenge this month.... to use strips of paper on our project in some way. Nicole does such amazing things with paper, I was not surprised at all when I heard about her challenge. I was very excited, and a little intimidated. So I thought a lot about using strips of paper as I started working with the kit. I ended up tucking some strips into each of the pages I made. :)

This was a very fun way to try something new! The challenge is posted at the Cocoa Daisy blog... go check out what Nicole and some of the other CD design team members made!

I cut out an ampersand using the Cocoa Daisy subscriber cut files, and then backed the cut-out space with strips of paper. Each of these strips is a piece of a cut-off strip from one of the papers included in the June kits! I felt like I made an awesome little embellishment out of scraps!

On this page I added a strip of paper right across the top of an embellished ampersand card I made. I like the little bit of pattern it adds to the top!

On this layout, I added strips of paper across the bottom and the top of the page. I just trimmed the patterned paper down by hand and then glued the strips of paper underneath the paint splatter patterned paper.

Do you use cut-off strips or your own cut strips of paper on your projects?
What's your favourite way to use paper strips?
