it is a very large tree

This layout has it all... something old... something new... something gold.. and something hand-drew! ;)
I made mixed media background for this page well over a year ago. Tucked it away, and never used it. Decided it was time to use it! The base for the background is white cardstock. I layered gesso, added in heat embossed paint splatters and triangles. I brushed gesso and white acrylic paint over it. Added bright pink mist. And some pale pink watercolour. And then some splattery drops of pink watercolour. And then waited a year.

The banner for the title was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. I made the back piece out of gold foil, and the banner pieces across the front out of white woodgrain.

Lots of messy bits.

This tree is in our front yard, so I wanted to add some house embellishments to my page. I have chipboard houses, wood veneer houses, and die cut houses, and none of them were right. I decided to draw some little grey houses directly onto the background in pencil, and grey Neocolor soluble crayons.

They're kind of messy little houses. But oh well, my house IS kinda messy and little!

I like the texture of layering heat embossing and adding a little white acrylic paint over top.

These gold foil vellum pieces are lovely! I wish I had more. I'm pretty sure they are all from Maggie Holmes' Styleboard collection for Crate Paper.
