It was a MARVELous superhero party for a super girl!

Last week I threw a MARVELous party for a great girl who turned 11. It was Addie Blue's birthday, and as she's in love with all things superhero and comic book, we thought a MARVELous party was in order!

I started party planning by making a Pinterest board for all of my superhero inspiration. I stalked blogs, Googled, Pinterest-ed all sorts of superhero party ideas and saved anything that I liked.

I asked Addie Blue what party colours she had in mind and she said she really loves aqua and gold. (This is not the first time I have heard this!). We added in white and pink for some of the decorations. I think, no matter what, I will never, ever, ever get tired of aqua, gold, and pink.

I made invitations with a Super AB logo, because she really is super. :) I cut the superhero logo out of white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo and backed with solid aqua paper. Easy-peasy!

On the day of the party Summer Lily, Addie Blue, and I hung up decorations. Ruby Sky spat into some balloons. Evie Grey ran around yelling "pop! pop!" and stomping her foot in delight, after discovering balloons do just exactly that. We hung streamers and balloons and tissue pom poms and gold tissue fringed garland.

I made a comic book inspired city scape out of cardboard boxes and wrapping paper. :) Addie Blue and I glued the windows on together. (P.S. Her's are the straight ones).

And, finally, the cake! I used the Super AB logo I made and cut it out of homemade marshmallow fondant. The cake itself is two 9*13 cakes layered with lemon curd filling. I made a paper template to cut out the logo cake. It's not perfect, but the kids loved it, and that's what really matters to me! :)
